For site operators

If heavy vehicles enter or leave your sites, your business likely holds chain of responsibility duties — as a consignee or consignor, a loader, unloader or loading manager. The Safe Freight Program gives your gate a dated, on-the-record check of any driver or vehicle, in seconds.

Why now

The amended Heavy Vehicle National Law commences on 1 August 2026, sharpening the expectation that duty-holders can evidence how they manage driver and vehicle risk. SFP puts that evidence on the record: dated, at the gate.

The check at your gate

Scan the QR a driver presents, or type an SFP code or plate. Standing resolves live at the moment of the check — what was checked, when, and by what method. No phone calls, no paper folder.

The fuller report, signed in

Signed-in site operators see the driver's name and SFP code, the record's standing, and its current carrier associations — each with the carrier's name, its state, and a plain-language reason.

What the report never shows: licence numbers, ended associations, or anyone's work history. Current standing, not relationship history — the check answers today's gate question and nothing else.

What a result means at your gate

Standing is program-relative, always dated, always method-identified — never a certification, approval, clearance or licence, never a statement that a law has been complied with, and never a statement of fitness for any duty or purpose.

Entry to your site is always your own decision, made under your own duties — SFP informs it and never makes it. An amber standing means a step not yet completed, never an adverse finding. A check that returns no result means only that no record is displayed — it is not adverse information about any person.

The platform is one input into your assurance arrangements, not the whole of them — your manual arrangements remain yours. How the program works →

Built for your evidence file

Every result your gate relies on is dated and method-identified, and the platform records how each entry came to be recorded. Those records may assist you in evidencing the discharge of your own duties — they never discharge them.
