PBS loading standard under review — operators using high-productivity combinations need to watch this

NHVR has opened a consultation on the Pavement Horizonal Loading Standard in the Australian PBS system. If you run or apply for PBS combinations, this matters because any change to that standard can affect access, assessment and how your vehicle combination is measured against road network limits.

Operator note: If you operate a PBS vehicle, pull up your current PBS approval and check whether pavement horizontal loading is part of the combination’s assessment basis. Flag this NHVR consultation with your operator so any submission is tied to the actual combinations and routes you use.

Isuzu backs Variety Victoria Bash — industry support with a community focus

Isuzu Australia and Ballarat Isuzu are increasing support for the 2026 Variety Victoria Bash, a well-known charity motoring event in Victoria. It is not a rule change or enforcement issue, but it shows practical industry backing for community causes that many transport workers already support through local events and fundraisers.

Operator note: If your depot or truck is getting involved in a charity run or support convoy, check the vehicle is presentation-ready and road legal before it rolls out — lights, tyres and any event signage or carried gear still need to be secure and not block visibility.
